Don't Step On My Blue Suede Shoes!

DAMN! Elvis had it right - my sentiments exactly. If I was wearing these gorgeous Miu Miu blue suede shoes and someone stepped on them, I'd probably be taken away in handcuffs and spending the next 24 to 72 hours in the clink. Prancing around in these chic slingback stunners might be worth a felony... definitely a misdemeanor!

How To Get Football Players To Talk Fashion and Dancing On The Red Carpet

Being the crazy publicists that we are, on behalf of "REWARD Public Relations" my business partner Jackie and I went to the NFL Draft party last night. Before the party was open for anyone besides NFL players, we got right in line with all the camera crews and correspondents past the step and repeat board and started our own little interview session about FASHION AND DANCING. Yea, that's right, FASHION AND DANCING.

Deion Sanders, the only man in history to play in both the World Series and the Super Bowl, let us know that he shops for his own clothing, but enjoys custom blinged out jewelry, note the cross. He then said he wasn't a jewelry guy... That Jesus Christ superstar cross sparkling in our eyes begged to differ! Jackie quickly asked "Yay or Nay to Dancing with the Stars" and we got a quick NAY - simmer down, Deion!

Jackie, my celebrity correspondent jumped right in concluding with Vernon Davis of the San Francisco 49ers, our favorite of the night. Vernon enjoys custom jewelry for himself and his lady, and is a huge Louis Vuitton fan. Dancing with the Stars in the future? "No Way! I can two step for you, but nothing else."

Modern Day Vargas Girl

I love Yumi Kim  - I have a bunch of her silk tops because they are beautiful and easy to throw on. When I think of the perfect definition of what a woman's body should resemble, a pin up girl is what comes into my head. They are perfection to me - especially the World War II pin ups and the tropical Vargas girls. This perfectly feminine Yumi Kim ruffled wrap dress channels that South Pacific - Vargas vibe and I just LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yumi Kim "Marien" Dress $211

Pucker Up!

You know when you use a bag you haven't used in a long time and you come across a long lost lip balm? Well I had a wonderful find this morning! I almost forgot all about this lip balm, but after I used it I knew it was going to be a good day! It was Benefit Silky Lip Balm - it comes along with a buffing balm to smooth your lips in a cute little "Lipscription" package. The silky lip balm has vitamin E and chamomile and feels GLORIOUS.  Use this kit, feel the love, and go make out with someone. Benefit Lipscription $32.

Oh Mickey You're So Fine...In 1986

I know this has nothing to do with fashion, but I am watching the movie 9 1/2 weeks on this dreary Monday and I am about to go wild and hunt down Mickey Rourke's plastic surgeon and bring him to JUSTICE. How could he have been so gorgeous and now look like an experiment gone haywire?  Just look at this picture and think about The Wrestler. What a cruel trick of nature.

Bangles

I love bangles and the way this chic woman piled them all up - very Joe Zee! I have a bunch of bangles myself, but now am loving wood bangles with gold accents for the summer, and CC Skye manages to produce affordable gorgeous wood bangles. They are earthy, exotic, understated, and easy to throw on with a cute tank or long dress (big fan of the long dresses this summer).

CC Skye "Janis Joplin" $80
CC Skye "Big Sur" $60
CC Skye "Boho Chic" $60

Recessionista Fashionista issue 1

Many of us are not exactly in the position to be dishin out the dough right now. However, there are plenty of cheaper, stylish options to choose from. Every few days I will put up an item under $150 that I love! Here is issue 1 of the "Recessionista Fashionista!"

MY WOMEN

this is my best friend dara. she's my glitter/platform shoe soul mate and other half. dara is the person who told me to start a blog! she's a GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS!

Here we are again :) I love you LJ!

My mom Pam is also very special to me and I am putting these up for her! I think I need to get some recent pictures but here are some cute very old pictures haha:

Look at this nautical theme we have going! So cute.

Mom you look so cute! I love you!

Stayin' Alive

I love the '70s.  I love the Bee Gees, ABBA, John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, and wish I was alive at the time of Studio 54 - the disco fashion, sequins, glitter and platform shoes, mini dresses, the music, the feathered hair, the drugs (just kidding... I think). I'd give anything to jump in a time machine and bring along my fellow glitter and platform shoe lover Dara for a night at Studio 54. We would turn that mother OUT.

This whole fantasy just spun out of control in my head after I saw these Brian Atwood cork platforms. I refuse to believe that disco is dead. Now I am blasting "Dancing Queen" on full volume and am pretty sure my doorman will be buzzing me telling me to turn the music down in 5, 4, 3, 2.....

I hereby name Anthropologie the Lord of the Rings. I love this store to begin with, but their rings are fun, affordable, and beautiful! I can't even choose a favorite which is strange for a person as opinionated as me - I WANT THEM ALL. A girl can dream. www.anthropologie.com.

Hypnotic Ring $98

Ushio Ring $158

Rock Sugar Ring $88

Bewitched Lily Ring $248

Threefold Ring $128

Mermaids

The Drew Barrymore underwater spread in the May issue of Elle photographed by Alexi Hay was beautiful, feminine, and made Barrymore look absolutely angelic. I wish I had the opportunity to be photographed under water - there's a purity to it that I am so drawn to. I couldn't help but think of Michael Dweck, my favorite photographer.

Fellow New Yorker Michael Dweck came out with his book "Mermaids" last summer. He captured the allure and beauty of women underwater as modern mermaids. The images are amazing; I especially love the way the mermaids' hair flows underwater. For more works of Michael Dweck visit www.michaeldweck.com.

Pick Your Poison

I was flipping through Lucky Magazine last night I saw a piece by Erica Weiner that I loved. I went to her website today and saw the coolest necklace! Her vial necklaces are awesome and come in three varieties - "animal" which contains an insect inside of a polished piece of amber, "mineral" which contains pieces of pyrite (I LOVE PYRITE), or "vegetable" which actually has a 100% organic mixture of seeds that can be sown in or outdoors and grow edible plants. But here's the kicker - the cork comes out of the vial and you can put whatever you want in there! Just don't pull an Angelina and Billy Bob and put your partner's blood in there. That's just creepy. For more information visit www.ericaweiner.com.

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta silk-faille bustier dress - hellooooooo lover. The navy stripes are tie dyed, giving the dress a nautical and easy feel for summer.  This dress is just begging to be worn at a yacht club or summer wedding. Gorgeous. $3,690. Te amo, Oscar.

"Diamonds" Are A Girl's Best Friend

I love crystals, geodes, and rocks as odd as that may sound. Check this ring out - it is a Herkimer Diamond Ring by Abraxas Rex. At a price of $8,800, the "Herkimer Diamond" is not a diamond at all - it's actually a doubly terminated quartz crystal. Doubly terminated crystals are very rare and popular with collectors. Yes, this ring is expensive, but it can be considered not only a gorgeous ring, but a personal security system. If anyone messes with a girl wearing that, she can knock them right out! Girl power!

Be Still My Heart

Well, I was not shocked when I discovered that the shoes that almost made me lose my footing and trip UP the escalator at Barneys yesterday were Pierre Hardy. I have yet to purchase a pair of Pierre Hardy shoes -- they are a bit out of the budg. However this pair is making me think twice - STOP MIND, stop. Enjoy these Pierre Hardy Scuba Platform Slingbacks $960.

Fiending For Giuseppe Zanotti

As this is my first blog entry, I figured I would pay homage to my absolute favorite shoe brand. Without fail, every time I walk through a shoe department my eyes go immediately to the gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti's. I am currently loving the Cage Ankle Boot, $875.
