Pleasant Surprise!

I am very happy with these new heels that I picked up today shopping with my friend Christina. I also convinced her to buy them!  I can't wait to wear them! There were a few other pairs of shoes I loved but sadly, none in a 7 1/2 unfortunately.

Just like everyone else, I am dazzled by the Balmain crystal embellished studded sandals. They are far superior to any studded sandals I've ever seen. HOWEVER, since I did not have $2,300 to shell out for these puppies, I opted for the ALDO "smeal" sandals which got major praise in the west village, also at the 1984 party at Pyramid! I know they got the gay vote, do they get yours?

Don't Step On My Blue Suede Shoes!

DAMN! Elvis had it right - my sentiments exactly. If I was wearing these gorgeous Miu Miu blue suede shoes and someone stepped on them, I'd probably be taken away in handcuffs and spending the next 24 to 72 hours in the clink. Prancing around in these chic slingback stunners might be worth a felony... definitely a misdemeanor!

Stayin' Alive

I love the '70s.  I love the Bee Gees, ABBA, John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, and wish I was alive at the time of Studio 54 - the disco fashion, sequins, glitter and platform shoes, mini dresses, the music, the feathered hair, the drugs (just kidding... I think). I'd give anything to jump in a time machine and bring along my fellow glitter and platform shoe lover Dara for a night at Studio 54. We would turn that mother OUT.

This whole fantasy just spun out of control in my head after I saw these Brian Atwood cork platforms. I refuse to believe that disco is dead. Now I am blasting "Dancing Queen" on full volume and am pretty sure my doorman will be buzzing me telling me to turn the music down in 5, 4, 3, 2.....

Well, I was not shocked when I discovered that the shoes that almost made me lose my footing and trip UP the escalator at Barneys yesterday were Pierre Hardy. I have yet to purchase a pair of Pierre Hardy shoes -- they are a bit out of the budg. However this pair is making me think twice - STOP MIND, stop.
